  • How do I know what soil is best for my garden?

The right soil depends on what you’re planting and your existing ground conditions. Veggie gardens benefit from nutrient-rich organic blends, while natives prefer lighter mixes with better drainage. Lawns usually need a sandy, free-draining soil. Assessing sunlight, water needs and soil structure helps narrow down the best option.

  • How much soil do I need for garden beds or lawns?

Calculate the area by multiplying length × width × depth, then convert to cubic metres. Garden beds generally need 300–400mm of depth, while lawn top dressing requires only 10–20mm. Ordering a little extra ensures you have enough to level uneven patches and finish the job properly.

  • What's the difference between top soil and garden mix?

Top soil is a base soil used for levelling, filling and lawn preparation. Garden mix includes compost and organic matter, making it richer and better suited for growing plants. Garden mix is ideal for new beds, flowers and veggies, while top soil is better for shaping and correcting ground levels.
